Settings (scrcpy, folders, language)
Change the language, tune the live-screen quality, pick your folders, turn on run logs and manage updates.

By the end of this page you will know where every AppsMobs setting lives and which one to touch first. ⏱ 10 minutes
Before you start
- AppsMobs is open and signed in (Sign in).
- For screen quality, a connected device.
The five tabs
Click Settings at the bottom of the sidebar. Five tabs sit at the top of the page.
| Tab | What you set there |
|---|---|
| General Settings | Language, automation, notifications, theme, shortcuts |
| Scrcpy Settings | Live-screen quality |
| License | Activating and checking your license |
| Logs | Recording script output |
| Advanced Settings | Folders, Python, external tools and updating |
Change the language and basic options
- 1
Open General Settings
Click Settings, General Settings tab (mark 1).
- 2
Pick the language
Under Language (mark 6), choose French or English. The interface changes right away.
- 3
Set the behaviour
Each option is a switch:
- Enable automation (mark 7, on by default): shows the Automation page in the sidebar. Turned off, the page disappears.
- Auto-refresh devices: looks for new devices every 10 seconds.
- Notifications: warns you when a script starts, stops or crashes.
- Sound alerts: plays a sound on errors and alerts.
- Dark theme: also reachable with the sun / moon button at the top of the screen.
- 4
Change keyboard shortcuts if needed
Open shortcuts (mark 8) shows the shortcut list, which you can edit (for example F5 to run, F8 to stop everything, F9 for a capture).
Tune the live-screen quality (scrcpy)
The live screen on the Control page goes through scrcpy, bundled with the app: nothing to install. If the picture stutters or your PC heats up, lower the quality; if you want more sharpness, raise it.
- 1
Open Scrcpy Settings
Click the Scrcpy Settings tab (mark 2 of the previous capture).
1Device to configure2Presets3Max FPS4Bitrate (Mbps)5Max resolution - 2
Choose who the settings apply to
Under Device to configure (mark 1), keep Global (all devices) to set everyone at once, or pick one device to give it its own settings. To make a device follow the shared settings again, use Use global settings.
- 3
Pick a preset
Three buttons (mark 2) give a starting point:
Preset Frames per second Bitrate Max resolution Eco 30 2 Mb/s 720 px Balanced 60 4 Mb/s 1080 px Max 60 16 Mb/s phone's native size - 4
Fine-tune with the sliders if needed
Max FPS (mark 3, 5 to 60) sets smoothness. Bitrate (Mbps) (mark 4, 1 to 20) sets sharpness: higher = sharper but heavier. Max resolution (mark 5, 0 to 1920) caps the image size; at far left it is the phone's native resolution.
You are done when the matching preset is highlighted and the live screen, reopened, has a different quality. If nothing changes, close and reopen the live screen.
If the stream does not start
With no settings, the stream uses 30 frames per second, 1280 px and 6 Mb/s. If it fails, the Control page offers Slow mode (screenshots), which works on more machines.
Pick your folders
In Advanced Settings:
- Scripts folder: where your scripts are stored. Default:
Documents\AppsMobs\Scripts. This is the folder the Automation page and the Dashboard read. - Screenshots folder: where captures are saved (default
Documents\AppsMobs\Screenshots). - The folder button next to each path lets you pick another one.
Vision AI projects live in Documents\AppsMobs\VisionProjects.
Python and external tools
Still in Advanced Settings:
- Custom Python Path: by default AppsMobs uses its embedded Python, which is restricted. If a script needs outside modules (for example
pandas), point this to your ownpython.exe. Leave it empty to keep AppsMobs' own. - External tools (Add a tool button): give your scripts access to a program such as Tesseract OCR, Java or FFmpeg. Pick the tool's folder: the environment-variable name is detected by itself. A dot tells you "Ready: passed to your scripts" or what is missing ("Variable missing", "Invalid path").
Run logs
Logs tab: Save the log of every run keeps the full output of each script on your PC, one file per run. You set the Number of logs kept (older ones are deleted) and the Maximum size of a log. Open folder opens it, Delete all (a second click confirms) wipes them. Logs of running scripts are kept. Details in Console and logs.
License and updates
- 1
Activate your license if needed
License tab: click Activate (mark 1), enter your email and license key, then confirm. You are done when "License activated!" appears.
1Activate2Verify License - 2
Re-check a license
Verify License (mark 2 of the previous screenshot) queries the server and refreshes the status. Details and error messages: License, plans and account.
- 3
Update the app
At the bottom of Advanced Settings, the Version line shows the installed version. Check looks for an update, Download fetches it, Install and restart applies it. AppsMobs also checks by itself about 3 seconds after startup and asks before downloading.
Limits to know
- Updates are described as available "only in production": a development build shows "Updates only available in production".
- The Playground's Developer mode is not here: it is in the editor's More menu (Your first script).
- Scrcpy settings do not change how many devices your license allows.
It does not work?
| Message or symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The Automation page vanished | Enable automation is off | Turn it back on in General Settings |
| "Enter your email and your license key." | A field is empty | Fill in both |
| "This key could not be activated." | Wrong key or email | Copy-paste the key from your purchase email |
| "Could not reach the server. Check your connection." | No Internet or server down | Check your connection and retry |
| "Variable missing" / "Protected system variable" (external tool) | Empty or reserved variable name | Pick another name or folder |
| Choppy live screen | Quality too high for the PC | Pick Eco |
| "Error checking for updates" | No connection, or a development build | Retry later; download the installer from the site |
