Troubleshooting

Look for the exact message on your screen (Ctrl + F in the page), read the cause, apply the fix. Each entry follows Message → cause → fix. ⏱ 2 minutes

Sign-in and license

Background: Sign in and activate your license and License, plans and account.

"Please fill in all fields"

• Cause: email or license key is empty.
• Fix: fill in both fields.

"Authentication error. Check your credentials or sign up."

• Cause: wrong email or license key, or no such account.
• Fix: copy-paste the key from your purchase email, with no spaces. No account yet: Sign up. No license: Buy a license.

"Server connection error"

• Cause: no Internet, or the server is unavailable.
• Fix: check your connection. After a failure, the app re-checks by itself every 2 seconds for 3 minutes (handy if you just bought).

"Offline mode detected"

• Cause: the server is unreachable.
• Fix: with a valid local license you are not blocked. Otherwise, restore your connection.

"License expired" + "Renew now →"

• Cause: the paid term is over.
• Fix: click Renew now →, renew, then sign in again. Meanwhile the app is read-only: running, stopping, pausing, resuming, duplicating or deleting a script is blocked. Your files are not deleted.

"This key could not be activated." (Settings, License tab)

• Cause: wrong key or email, or license already active on another PC.
• Fix: retype the key; if it is used elsewhere, free the other machine from My account on the website.

"Could not reach the server. Check your connection."

• Cause: no Internet during activation.
• Fix: check your connection and retry.

"Enter your email and your license key."

• Cause: a field of the Activate a license window is empty.
• Fix: fill in both.

"Scripts and the console need an active license."

• Cause: license missing or expired.
• Fix: Activate or Verify License in Settings, License tab.

Vision AI greyed out, or "This feature requires the PRO plan…"

• Cause: your plan does not include the feature (Vision AI: Pro or above; reinforcement: Ultimate).
• Fix: compare plans on Pricing.

"A Discord user ID is a number of 17 to 20 digits." / "Unable to generate a code." / "Not linked yet: send the code in Discord, then check again."

• Cause: wrong ID, server unavailable, or code not sent yet (valid 10 minutes).
• Fix: copy the ID again with Copy User ID, send /link-account followed by the code, then Check status.

"Unable to load your profile." / "Electron API not available. Please restart the app."

• Cause: the profile failed to load.
• Fix: click Refresh, or restart AppsMobs; if "Not available in this version. Please update the app.", update the app.

Device

Background: Connect a phone or an emulator and Control a device.

"No device connected" / "No Devices Detected" (Dashboard empty state: "Connect a device")

• Cause: cable not plugged in, USB debugging off, or phone not yet authorised.
• Fix: plug the cable in, turn on USB debugging, accept the RSA key on the phone, then Refresh. Try another cable or USB port.

"Device Unauthorized"

• Cause: the phone has not accepted this PC's debugging key.
• Fix: look at the phone screen, press Allow in the "Allow USB debugging?" window, tick "Always allow from this computer", then Refresh.

"USB Debugging Disabled"

• Cause: developer options are not turned on.
• Fix: phone Settings, About phone, tap 7 times on Build number, then Developer options, turn on USB debugging, and plug the phone in again.

"Device Disconnected" / "Your Android device is offline"

• Cause: cable unplugged, sleep, or Wi-Fi connection lost. The device shows Disconnected.
• Fix: check the cable or Wi-Fi. The app tries to reconnect; otherwise unplug, replug and Refresh.

"Wi-Fi Connection Failed" / "Unable to connect via Wi-Fi"

• Cause: PC and phone are not on the same network, or the IP address is wrong.
• Fix: put them on the same Wi-Fi, check the IP, retry; otherwise reconnect over USB first.

"ADB Not Found" / "ADB Error"

• Cause: AppsMobs cannot reach ADB.
• Fix: ADB is bundled with the app. Click Resolve Automatically when offered, or restart AppsMobs; reinstall if it persists.

"No device selected: choose at least one" (Control page)

• Cause: no device box ticked.
• Fix: tick a device, or pick all the free ones.

"Choose a device to see its screen"

• Cause: the live screen has no device selected.
• Fix: select a device in step 1 of Control.

The live screen does not start, or stutters

• Cause: the scrcpy stream fails, or the quality is too high.
• Fix: choose Slow mode (screenshots), or lower the quality in Settings, Scrcpy Settings tab (Eco preset).

"Screenshot failed"

• Cause: the device did not answer the capture request.
• Fix: check it is Free and unlocked, then retry.

Typed text is wrong ("unsupported characters")

• Cause: the Control text field only accepts letters without accents, digits, spaces and . , _ @ + : / = -.
• Fix: remove accents and special characters.

"{n} already running a script: both will run at the same time"

• Cause: you start a script on a device that is already running one.
• Fix: wait for the first to finish, or stop it first (this is a warning, not a block).

Scripts

Background: Your first script, Write a Python script.

"For your security, this script cannot be executed." (title "Execution blocked")

• Cause: in Code mode, the script contains a blocked statement: import os, subprocess, sys, pathlib, requests, socket, or open, eval, exec.
• Fix: remove it. AppsMobs functions are already available with no import (see the Function reference). Blocks mode only allows AppsMobs functions. Developer mode relaxes the rule, at your own risk.

"Security warnings have been detected in your code. Do you want to continue anyway?"

• Cause: the code contains something suspicious but not blocked.
• Fix: re-read the code; confirm only if you know what it does.

"No device connected: plug a phone in (USB debugging on) or start an emulator, then press Run again."

• Cause: the Playground has no device to send the script to.
• Fix: connect a device (Connect a device), then run again.

"Could not start the script" (Dashboard)

• Cause: the script or the device is not responding.
• Fix: check the device is Free and open the Console for details.

"No traceback captured. Open the console for the full log."

• Cause: a script crashed without an intercepted message.
• Fix: open the Console, source = your device, level Errors.

"Ended with an error on …" / "Stopped with an error after …"

• Cause: the script raised an error.
• Fix: read the error line in the Output panel or the Console, fix the script.

"{script} crashed {n} times in 10 min on {device}: automatic restart stopped"

• Cause: Restart on crash restarts a crashed script after 3 seconds, up to 3 times in 10 minutes; beyond that it stops.
• Fix: fix the cause of the crash in the script, then start it by hand.

"Missing module": "The script requires the module … which is not installed."

• Cause: your script uses a Python library that is absent.
• Fix: click Install (or Copy command). If the app says "You are using the restricted internal version of Python", install Python on your PC and set its path in Advanced Settings (Custom Python Path).

"No log file for this run. Turn on run logs in Settings > Logs."

• Cause: run logs were off when the script started.
• Fix: turn on Save the log of every run; it applies to the next runs.

Scheduling

Background: Scheduling with Automation.

"Scheduler stopped"

• Cause: the scheduling program stopped (it is meant to restart by itself).
• Fix: click the badge, then Restart the scheduler, or restart AppsMobs.

"Automation engine unavailable"

• Cause: this build has no Python engine.
• Fix: reinstall the latest version.

"No Python script found. Create one in the Playground first."

• Cause: the scripts folder is empty.
• Fix: create a script; check the Scripts folder in Advanced Settings.

"Choose an interval of at least 1 minute." / "The interval cannot exceed 7 days."

• Cause: interval out of range.
• Fix: stay between 1 minute and 7 days.

"This date is already past: pick a moment in the future."

• Cause: Once with a past date.
• Fix: pick a future date and time.

"Pick at least one day." / "Choose a time." / "Choose a script." / "Choose at least one device."

• Cause: a required field is empty.
• Fix: fill it in before Create the task.

"A cron expression has 5 fields: minute hour day month weekday"

• Cause: Advanced rule badly written.
• Fix: write 5 fields (* = any, */10 = every 10, 8-20 = range, 1,3,5 = list).

"This rule never matches a date: check it."

• Cause: impossible field combination.
• Fix: fix the rule until you see Next runs.

"Stopped after 3 failures in a row"

• Cause: three runs in a row failed (device unplugged, script error, no free device, script over 5 minutes...).
• Fix: read "Last error", fix, then Turn back on.

"No device connected right now. Plug one in, or choose "Any free device"."

• Cause: with These devices, no device to tick.
• Fix: plug one in, or switch to Any free device.

""Run now" needs the latest engine: restart AppsMobs."

• Cause: the old engine is still running.
• Fix: restart AppsMobs.

Nothing ran overnight

• Cause: AppsMobs was closed or the PC asleep. The scheduler only runs while the app is open and missed runs are not caught up.
• Fix: keep the app open and turn off Windows sleep.

A task skips runs

• Cause: the device was busy or unplugged at run time.
• Fix: check the state in the Devices panel; add devices or space the runs out.

Vision AI

Background: Vision AI step by step.

Vision AI buttons greyed out

• Cause: plan below Pro.
• Fix: see Pricing.

"No live screen yet"

• Cause: the preview is not started.
• Fix: choose the device in the System section, then Start the preview.

"Définissez un nom de projet" (shown in French)

• Cause: the project name is empty.
• Fix: fill it in under Current Project.

"Total != 100%"

• Cause: the Train / Valid / Test split does not add up to 100.
• Fix: set for example 70 / 20 / 10 again.

"Tu as défini un minimum d'images par classe mais il en manque encore" (shown in French)

• Cause: you set a minimum number of images per class and it is not reached.
• Fix: capture more images, or continue anyway (not recommended).

"Missing module" + "Install" button (local training)

• Cause: a Python library needed for training is missing.
• Fix: click Install, wait for Installed!. With no NVIDIA GPU, use Colab.

The model misses objects, or sees them everywhere

• Cause: not enough variety, no empty images, or Confidence Threshold badly set.
• Fix: add images of the missed cases and empty images, then train again; adjust the threshold.

"Export COCO" / "Export Pascal VOC" inactive, "Modal Premium (Coming Soon)"

• Cause: these exports and this service are announced as "Coming Soon".
• Fix: no workaround today; the YOLO format is the one used.

YOLO functions do not work in a script

• Cause: they are being reworked.
• Fix: do not rely on them yet; use find_image and tap_image.

Installation and updates

Background: Install AppsMobs.

"Windows protected your PC" (SmartScreen)

• Cause: the installer is not code-signed.
• Fix: click More info, then Run anyway.

"Error checking for updates" / "Updates only available in production"

• Cause: no connection, or a development build.
• Fix: retry later, or download the installer from the download page.
